What is IST? – Supports test configurations for various tests such as 4G/5G RAN and core network verification –

IST is the generic term for the test packages we have developed for TDST.

IST is a test package that runs on TDST. Users can easily start testing without creating test scenarios, only by setting the data such as terminal and wireless base station in the database (GUI).

We offer various ISTs for testing/verification purposes, such as gNB and 5GC testing of 5G SA (Stand Alone) networks, and operation confirmation by unit testing of each network function node such as AMF and UPF.

Since the IST source code can also be provided, users can edit it using the TDST sequence editor.

We have many track records of delivering IST to telecommunication network operators and network equipment manufacturers.

N1/N2 simulation (RAN side) IST – 5GC (5G core network) verification test case –

Implements the state transitions/messages required for UE/gNB (N1/N2, N3 I/F) simulation and uses them for 5GC verification.
User data pass-through or generation can be selected for U-Plane traffic.
During network slicing, U-Plane connects to the UPF assigned from the DUT (actual 5GC) side.  

N1/N2 simulation (CORE side) IST– UE/gNB verification test case –

Implements 5G core state transitions/messages required for real UE/gNB tests. There is no need to change the settings on the simulator side each time for each call type. It operates similarly to a real core network. Terminates N1/N2, N3 protocols, and network slicing configuration can be supported.
*Communication between each node within 5GC is realized through internal processing.

It can also be used for EPS<->5GS Inter-RAT handover tests and PNI-NPN tests. ETWS is also supported.

S1 simulation (RAN side) IST – EPC verification test case –

Implements the state transitions/messages required for UE/eNB (S1-MME, S1-U I/F) simulation and uses them for EPC verification.
User data pass-through or generation can be selected for U-Plane traffic.

S1 simulation (CORE side) IST – UE/eNB verification test case –

Implements EPC state transitions/messages required for actual UE/eNB tests. There is no need to change the settings on the simulator side each time for each call type. It operates similarly to a real core network. Terminates the S1-MME/S1-U protocol.
*Communication between each node within the EPC is achieved through internal processing.

5G NSA method test configuration is also supported.

UPF test IST – Test case for UPF unit test –

It implements the state transitions/messages required for UPF testing, simulates gNB (N3 I/F) and 5GC (N4, N6 I/F), and allows UPF unit testing.
User data traffic is generated for U-Plane.

AMF test IST – Test case for AMF unit test –

It implements the state transitions/messages necessary for AMF testing, and encloses AMF with N1/N2 and Namf, making it possible to perform AMF unit tests.
